Oops, waited too long, don't make the same mistake!

I made the mistake of not buying a C & C cage from the start. There were no rescue places to adopt a cavie so I bought my 2 males from the pet store along with the biggest cage I can find. They were small at the time so I thought it was ok. As they grew, they started to fight and took turns living in the 1 igloo (too small for 2). When I moved them to the C&C cage, it was too late, they couldn't live with each other because they both wanted to dominate. Now, they are side by side with a clear divider to see and speak to each other. It's a thin line between love and hate and that's what they have with each other. Don't make the mistake I did. They now have their own brothers to hang with but I'll find them laying side by side every night with the clear divider between them. (feeling guilty)

Pros:
  • Quality
  • Functional
Cons:
Finding a quality cage that meets the size requirements for 2 boars is not easy. I tried multiple Midwest cages and they lacked durability, were horrible for attaching water bottles and other accessories and the liner was horrible for retaining smell. Homemade c&c cages were a disaster. They were flimsy and Guinea pigs wanted to chew vinyl. I was getting very upset with finding a good enclosure for my fur babies. Then I found this company. After doing research on the company and products I decided to give it a try. I wish I would have just started with this cage -jumbo to begin with. These are the only c&c cages I would ever recommend. If you want quality and a onetime cage buy. Buy from here. I don’t know anyone from this company and am not paid or gifted for my review. I only hope that I can prevent others from wasting time and money on crappy cages. Just buy this one and know your getting a good cage that your piggies and you will love 💕 also the hay/kitchen area genius. Makes cleaning so much easier. So definitely recommend getting that as well.

If I hadn't found this site, my pigs would be in a 30" petstore cage with no floor time and no vegetables. I might have even been breeding them. When I found this site I was simple astounded at what I was doing wrong. Now my two girls are in a 2x7.5 C&C cage with fleece bedding lots of hay, Oxbow pellets, floor time every day and more vegetables then I eat. Two new rescue pigs are comming home later today!: ) Thank you so much Guineapigcages.com!

I first bought my cage as a two-level and had it assembled as such, until I had to clean it the first time. Then I adjusted it to a 2x3 for bedtime and a 3x3 for playtime - and the door stays open all day so they can run between the two areas. The areas are separated by three grids - the middle one is a door and the solid grids on each side have the hay holders attached. The piggies love it. They know that when the door gets opened in the morning, their breakfast is waiting for them - as if they didn't already hear the bag that holds their greens and are both at the corner whistling and squeaking for food. Sue has been wonderful by custom cutting my floor. Given the room that I have, I am adopting a third piggie very soon.

Two boars are buds now

Monty and Igore lived in smaller separate cages before I purchased a big cavy cage from here. The guys got along great when they had free roaming time in the hallway and when they finally got to live together in the same cage their friendship only got stronger. They love being roommates :)

Upgraded!

Pros:
Cons:
I used to have a 2x4 Large C&C cage with 3 guinea pigs living in there. I wanted to upgrade to this cage because one it was sorta of cramped for 3 guinea pigs and two because one of my guinea pigs doesnt really get that along with my other pig so I read the bigger the cage the better! Im glad that they have all this space saves time if your busy and dont have time to do floortime!

WAY TOO BIG!!!

  • TOO BIG!!!
I bought this thinking it was going to fit a 2x6. I have a 2x6 C&C cage and ordered this. When It came, it was a 2x7!!! AND it doesn't even fit the sides! Good liner just HUGE!!!! Not what I wanted. :(

** Reply from Guinea Pig Cages Store **

Customer mistakenly thought a 2x6 GRID cage is "6 feet" which we make known it is not. The correct measurements of a 2x6 grid C&C cage is 30" x 90" which is listed in multiple areas when purchasing a cage.

**Exterior: 30" x 90" when assembled = you will need a table space of about 2.5 feet by 7.5 feet to accommodate this cage.**

We'd be happy to provide instructions on reducing the cage, though, please contact support@guineapigcages.com

Pros:
  • Price
  • Size
Cons:
  • Gap
  • Bent chloroplast
The only problem with this cage is because of the gap between the base and sides, hay gets everywhere and also it’s hard to find a water bottle that can reach into the cage enough for the pigs to drink. The Chloroplast on mine was also bent in the middle. Other than that it’s an okay cage there’s plenty of space for my two girls to run around
