Pros:

Cons:
Prior to reviewing our new 2x5, I would like to say that Guinea Pig Cages Store has its entire process running like a well-oiled machine. From detailed product descriptions that include size alerts...to accurate fulfillment...to secure packaging...they have fine-tuned every aspect of purchasing your pet's home.

The 2x5 is a great size for our two boars that we affectionately refer to as meatloaves. We want to ensure they have plenty of space and this fits the bill. Super easy to put together and works great with our porch patio and lookout lounge installations (also worthy of 5+++ star reviews).

This is the third cage I've gotten from guineapigcagestore.com and I cannot say enough good things about them. I originally had two female guinea pigs and had gotten them a petstore cage and the next day after doing some research realized it was such a mistake and ordered them a 2x4 with a wide loft. They loved it. I then ending up getting a male and got him a 2x3 not planning on getting another pig. However this week I got a 2nd male pig and needed a bigger cage than a 2x3 so I got this 2x5 and it is perfect and they don't fight with each other anymore because they have plenty of room to get away! Also upon ordering this cage I ordered an offset loft kit and I highly recommend doing that too if you have a wide loft because it makes the cage easier to clean and get the pigs out. All my pigs now have plenty of space and I have my 2x3 as a back up cage incase something happens. Next on my list of things to get is a couple kitchen areas!

Accidental babies, C&C to the Rescue

When my cavy accidentally had babies this Christmas, I knew I needed more room for animals. I had some grids in my closet so I knew how to set them up when I found this site. I ordered a 2 by 5 cage and a 2 by 3 bottom to go with the grids I already have. Delivery took five days (and only because it was a holiday weekend) and Sue was helpful and thoughtful. Mama and her babies are in the large cage. Mama seems a bit wary (its only been a couple of hours) but you should see Bambi and Buttons go zim, zam, zoom! all over the cage. My other cavy is in the 2 by 3 until I get them all properly sexed at the vets. She's much bouncier than she has been in the pet store cage, which was about half the size. There were extra coroplast pieces in the box which I used to cover up the holes in the babies cage, so that the walls are twice as high. She's actually walking around checking things out instead of moping in a corner. We love the new cages! Thanks, Sue!

I ordered the 2x5 with pink coroplast. It shipped within 24 hours, and delivered to my door 24 hours after it shipped! Absolutely amazing. Took me about an hour to put together, no hassle. My guinea pigs absolutely love the space. It doesn’t come with a top, so if you have other animals in the house please be careful. The room where my guinea pigs are has a lock on the door so I’m confident in having an open top cage.

Dear Sue, THANK YOU so much for the wonderful 2 x 6 C&C cage you sent for my two new adoptees. My 3 year old boars had lived their lives together in a store bought cage until I adopted them in February. They fought pretty much constantly which broke my heart. Even though I fabricated two side by side "cages" out of pet playpens but they were miserable to clean and I felt terrible separating them. I researched C&C cages and decided to support the work done at Cavy Cages and order one from the website. I found the largest space in my house which would fit a cage made from 2 x 6 grids. I received my order quickly and it was a cinch to put together with Sue's instructions. It has been a week and the difference in my boys' behavior is quite frankly astounding. Although there are skirmishes here and there, they are getting along and playing, even sleeping next to each other. Their loving and adorable personalities have emerged and it's like a metamorphasis! They just needed SPACE and lots of it! I continue to give them 3-4 hours a day of floor time in my kitchen after I get home from work and change up the "toys" to keep them stimulated. Thank you so much this has been a real eye opener and I feel so happy to make a difference in the quality of life of these two sweet piggies. Barb

My husband and I adopted a one year old male guinea pig named Edward from his sister in law in September, and that same week we decided to get him a companion. Unfortunately, since we didn't know much, we got a baby guinea pig from a pet store and after a month he died of scurvy. He spent nearly a whole week at the vet and there was nothing we could do.Even though we were brokenhearted, we were still determined to get a companion for Edward, so we rescued a 2 year old male guinea pig, whom we renamed Joe. Needless to say, the cage where we had him was too small (since it was the cage where we had the previous baby piggie), so the "cage-finding" mission began. We looked everywhere and finally came across this site and discovered what C&C cages were. We emailed Sue and we quite frankly got the best service ever. She responded promptly and offered us different options as to what setting would be best for our pigs. The cage arrived in perfect condition it was extremely easy to assemble and we are now finally satisfied with our two piggies (who can't stop popcorning with their new fleece bedding) in their new home.Excellent service!!! We really hope more piggie owners decide to get C&C cages from Sue!

I have had Zoey, my first guinea pig, for about 3 months when i finally got her a friend, Zada. At first i only had a store bought cage, which i kept Zoey in, and after i got Zada, i bought a C&C cage. I got it last night, and they absolutely love it!! They just keep running around and are having so much fun :-) This was the BEST thing i ever bought! They are just so happy!!

We love the cage, I bought the extra large one for my two guinea pigs and they are just going nuts! Having a ball, before they would just hide in their igloo and only come out to eat. The cage was simply too small. Now they are out "playing" as well. They seem so happy. It is the best thing I ever bought!

Well, I wasn't too sure about this type of cage when I first saw it because I thought it would be too big, but I was keeping our two baby boys in my old rats cage which was too high for them and definitely not wide enough. I saw all the guinea pig cages in the pet store and wasn't impressed by their size at all. I was kind of stuck, but decided in the end to go with Sue's cages. What a great choice!!! They absolutely LOVE their new playground. In their old cage they would just sit in a corner and not really move around too much, but now when I come in the room I always see them running around the cage like it's a race track. And when they get really excited they start doing what I call Bronco Kicks! They kind of throw their back legs in the air like they're trying to buck someone off their back! It's too cute!! Thanks so much Sue, Skippy and Mugsy love their new mansion!

I recently purchased and set up my new C&C cage bought on this very website (www.guineapigcages.com) and wow! There was a dramatic change in my piggie! The moment I put her down she raced from one corner to the other (2x5 cage!) and began popcorning, which she normally only did during floor time! The cage was very simple to set up, anyone could do it. I highly recommend buying or building your own C&C cage! Your piggie will thank you.

I purchased my first female sow from Petco, and it turned out she was pregnant and had two babies. I had originally a very small starter cage from the store and knew it wasn't big enough for one let alone three. So I looked online and found this website. After learning about C&C cages I decided it was a must for my pigs. I bought the kit and assembled it the day it came in the mail and my pigs lives were instantly changed! My female mom was popcorning for the first time and started "Wheeking" and making noises as she hadn't before. When I discovered I had a male and a female baby I need to separate the male baby after 3 weeks from the other two females which meant I would need another new cage. I also wanted to get him a friend so I went to a Cavy Rescue and got him a male baby friend and she gave me supplies to make another C&C cage and they love it as well! They "Popcorn" and run all over the cage and love the amount of space to run and hide from one another. Not to mention I am able to be really creative and make the cages how I want them and I can constantly change them to their/my liking. The coroplast is really easy to clean and I feel happy knowing my pigs are happy and safe in these great C&C cages!

Hi, My son got our guinea pig, "Cow-Rat," from a pet Store about 1 1/2 years ago. He came home with mites. In a pet store cage only 2ft X 1ft. Getting them the room they need has made both caves very happy. The have room to run and play more. Their eyes look brighter. They ever purr more. Wow I wish I got a Big cage to start with. When I took him to the vet the vet said "That is a nice carrier." I realised that He needed a bigger home. So We went back to the Store and got one that was 15" X 30". Cow-Rat was happy. After a while my Son moved out and took Cow-Rat with him. :-( I went to the OHS (use to be pound) and got Ginger. Put her in the 15" X 30" cage. My Son bought a new cage for Cow-Rat. The Biggest one in the Store -- a 3' X 2'. Wow it looked like a mansion. We had Cow-Rat fixed so Ginger would not have pups when I got her she was already 2 years old. My vet said "It could kill her if she has not already had pups." The two love each other and would get upset when we Put them back into their own cage. :-/ So my Son moved back in with me and we put both in the 3' X 2' Cage. I noticed that they loved bath tub time. After their bath I would put both in the tub and they would run around. So I again started to think they needed a new home. I had lot of information about cavies. I bought a cage from Sue -- an Extra Large one. :-D The First time I put them in it. They both were jumping around and running from one end to the other. I thought they might jump the fence. So I put them in the old cage the first night. The next morning when I put them back into the big cage. They both made it clear they were never going into that small cage again. Thanks Sue for making a home for my Cavies. They thank you also.

I adopted a guinea pig about a year ago. He came with his cage. I have been looking for a bigger but yet still affordable cage for him. I found this site and loved the cages. When I got the cage, it was so easy to put together and my little guy just loves it. I left the top open, since there are no threats, and he loves being able to pop up his nose for his head and back patting. More room to exercise and stay fit. I have discovered he has an adorable personality and I know his new environment has been a big part of that I will be looking to add a second level in the near future. It's fun and easy. This was a 100% perfect investment. A much happier pig! TY

First - ordering was a cinch and delivery was quicker than quick. Sue was wonderful! Second - putting it together a "snaP" and I'm not a very handy person. A lot of the advice on this site is wonderful (www.guineapigcages.com). It's helping us get Squeeks more comfortable with us and us with Squeeks. He's taking his time getting use to the cage but he's loving it now. A reason for the expansion is to try and add a friend. We'll use his old cage for quarantine and then hopefully eventually build a loft or something to add even more space. Apparently I've got the bug!!! and so does my daughter!

I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful cage. I couldn't have done it on my own for that price. We put plexi glass and made a 2x2 for our naughty pig who doesn't play well with others, but can see the other two that live on the other 3x2. They also got a 2x1 upstairs with ramp that they love to run up and down. I like the flexibility and durability of this cage!! Thank you

I just got my cavy cage from Cavy Cages. Wow! How nice. We had two older sows, mother and daughter that were living in a large (so called) cage from the pet store, about 30x18. OK but not healthy for our large sow -- 1091 grams and her daughter at 762 grams. We then adopted two more sows at Albuquerque Animal Control and put them in a smaller cage that we had. We decide to go for the cavy cage system on this site. We got the 71"X27" coroplast cage. I set it on a 72"x30" table and introduced all the pigs at the same time. Some fighting and dominance issues occured so we took an extra two panels and divided the cage for the night. Next day I bought another igloo and set up a hay station with an extra panel. I think the pigs have worked out their issues and all have a place to hide. This cage system is so nice. I bought extra panels and will make a perch area up above the floor of the cage so anybody can get up and hide away for awhile. I got another water bottle too so there are three in the cage at any time. The cavies are so happy now. As long as the dominance issues calm down we'll have four happy piggies.

We purchased this cage for our 4 guinea pigs. They love the space and we love the ease of cleaning. Combined with fleece bedding and the cavy bistro, our cleaning has been decreased by half, as the hay and food pellets are primarily kept in the bistro area instead of all over the fleece. :) We also bought the hay buffet - another mess saver which the piggies love. Highly recommend!

I got my piggies from the rescue when Fuji was 7 weeks old and Wasabi was 4 weeks old (both little boys). The largest store bought cage was fine at the time but they quickly outgrew it. They were becoming somewhat aggressive with each other due to the lack of space. My new C&C cage has made a huge difference. They are much happier and play more, but also have the space to get away from each other if needed. This was money well spent - and Sue was great to work with!

I ordered my 2x5 C&C cage last week and it came yesterday. After putting it together, I plunked my two boys (Pickles and Lucky) in it. Holy piggies did they have fun! I adopted them from the Humane Society and they each were in a rabbit cage. This is the most space they've ever seen. It was so easy to put together, and it's huge! I will definitely be recommending them to all of the other piggie parents that I know. Thanks for making my boys happy!
