Thank you so much for the speedy shipping. Our piggies were in dire need for a huge upgrade... we received our package so quickly! Took a little time to assemble correctly but all in all - very easy to do. Our piggies took off running the minute they transferred into it! What a life saver for them. Our prior cage was a pet store cage, which, frankly, was far too small! So happy we ran across your site.. we are absolutely thrilled with our purchase!

We got the large cage with the narrow loft and cover. I wish we found you guys before we got the piggies, we would have gotten your cage in the first place. Our 3 boys are so happy to be together all the time instead of just during play time when we would put them all in a play pen. They love the loft and play on the ramp a lot more than I expected, they run the length of the cage and "popcorn" more than I have ever seen them do while in a cage. I read a few reviews saying the cage falls apart easily and it's hard to clean it in the far corner, these are not things we have experienced, in fact, the cage seems very sturdy (you have to make sure you have the round connectors on correctly or it will seem unstable) and it's really easy to just lift the whole thing up to clean it. Our piggies come up to the loft when we want to take them out so catching them is not an issue either.

One thing we noticed was the piggies started chewing on the coroplast base right away, but once we gave them other things to chew on, they stopped.

In short, this is an awesome home for guinea pigs, customer service is A-1 and the shipping was really fast.

Love it!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!

i bought a 2x6 cage with a 2x2 upstairs and my piggies love it. i keep 4 gps in it and i still have a lot of space left over. If you are looking for an easy to clean cage you have come to the right place. My only problem was it took a while to build but after that i've had no concerns

My son ADORES his guinea pig(s) - past and present. He discovered a local rescue (The Critter Corral in Steger, IL) and through them discovered his cage was way too small. Research led us here. Like some of the others, the prices put me off a bit at first but the hassle of tracking down and building our own eventually had us ordering. Cages are shipped super fast and are simple to assemble.

We ordered a 2x4 for our single guinea pig - with the intent to eventually have more than one piggie. I bought and sewed up some fleece linings and we have never looked back. Cleaning the cage is a breeze now! And our piggie, George, couldn't be happier. There was much popcorning when he got into his new digs.

We've slowly been building onto our cage. I just ordered a base and we hope to eventually get the cubbies and maybe even a second level!

Thank you - you've helped make an 11 year old boy and his buddy very happy.

I have been a guinea pig owner for a very long time and I always wanted a C & C cage but because I was in college with my piggies I could never purchase one. However, as soon as college ended and I got my 3 girls (Maddie, Dora and Phoenix) I had to do a C & C cage !! This cage was my labor of love and I am absolutely happy I brought it. The owners are fantastic! My package shipped quick and fast with everything I needed to build the perfect guinea haven ! I was also able to buy some nifty supplies from the sister store to spice up the girls' cage. They love it !! The cage was easy to build I did not even need the instructions but they were still helpful with illustrations. The cage was sooo spacious and left a lot of options to expand which I absolutely love !! It is of great quality and definitely worth the money to make your piggies happy. They will love you for it TRUST ME!!! The girls are continuously running around popcorning and playing with their toys. The cage makes it so easy to clean and vacuum and whats best is you can interact with your furry children. I love the ability to decorate their cage and make it colorful and happy for them!! I also brought the cavy kitchen which was great. I love to watch the girls run from the kitchen, jump and run back to the kitchen! Its a wonderful way to separate the food, hay and water from their living area and it also comes in handy as a little litter box! Needless to say go ahead and purchase this cage if you've been looking. You definitely won't regret it !!!

I researched cages and piggy care obsessively before seriously thinking about getting a Guinea Pig and these were the best cages I could find anywhere. Although I considered building one out of my own materials, there was no local place where I could get the materials for anywhere even close to this price so I know that I saved a bunch of money (and probably frustration) and the proceeds are going to help more piggy friends!

I know the previous owner of this pig and I was told upfront that she might not be the most fun or active pig and it was suggested that I may have wasted money and space on a huge cage that she wont use. After setting everything up I finally got to bring home my piggy today and, although I know she's old for a piggy (she is around 9 years old) I was not disappointed. I set down her old cage inside the new one and took the lid off; once she got up the nerve to exit the older dwelling and explore a bit, she was all over the place! I believe she even did some geriatric popcorning!

Her old cage fits into a corner of the new one which is a 2x5 grid so I think I'm going to leave it in there for a bit until she feels comfy in her new home. Also, she used to be a pigloo-non-exitus but now that she has extra space, I can confirm she's definitely as cute as her previous (brief) appearances led me to believe and she has already felt comfortable enough to let me pet her a little. I'm looking forward to finding her a cage-mate (probably in the next two to three weeks) and maybe I'll notice a side-by-side youth difference but after twenty minutes of comparative freedom, I can no longer categorize her as an "old" animal because she doesn't act elderly in the least. I can already tell this is going to be amazing. I'm really happy that I got her a home that will allow her to feel like a young pig again and I hope that she can stay with me for a long time yet!

I like it very much. I love the bright yellow color for the chlorplast! It was easy to put together and the gate/fence portions were fairly easy to put together as well. Teddy, my guinea pig, loves it! He has more room and is adjusting nicely! One of the fence sections I kept off, to keep a section open to get him out easier and I used that extra piece for his fleece forest - he loves it! I highly recommend purchasing this for your guinea pig. It's durable and the owners of Guinea Pig Cages Store, were wonderful in working with me on shipping it, since I live in a gated community! Thank you!. :D

I purchased my first piggy without doing any prior research - that was my first mistake. After getting little Ginger home I started researching products and things I could do with her. During my research, I found that her cage was too small and they are happier in pairs. I thought to myself "well great there goes $160 on supplies and my little girl won't even be happy"

After a month of considering another piggy purchase, I finally caved and bought Fluffy. I borrowed a cage from a friend's mom (that was WAYYYY to small) and sat them next to each other for a week (cause that is what I read to do when introducing each other). Of course I still wasn't happy with them being in separate (small) cages.

I ran across this website and was astounded! Everything was awesome. I wasn't expecting to run across an entire website just for guinea pigs. I purchased a 2x4 covered cage cause my Ginger is a climber. After I put the order in I emailed and asked when I would be receiving my tracking number. Without even asking if everything I had purchased was right for the girls Sue offered some insight on my order that was very much appreciated. My order was shipped out the next day.

After I put my cage together I wrote Sue another email thanking her for her help with a picture attached of the final product. After viewing the picture, Sue noticed a flaw on the kitchen I bought- which was minor. Here is her exact quote in the email…

"I just noticed one of the kitchens have the front flap not quite all the way down. The Velcro is fairly new for us. Is this holding ok?"

It was flipped up because the girls were literally sprinting around their cage in excitement. The velcro just need to be re-stuck and everything was fine. The fact that she noticed and asked even though she could tell I was satisfied with my purchase means a lot. This clearly shows these women care about their work, their products and most of all their customers satisfaction.

Thanks again, Sue! I will definitely be coming to you again with another order in the future!

Well I just received an email, telling me that my new C&C cage is at home waiting for me, and I couldn't be more excited.

I am extremely grateful with how helpful this business has been for me. I have not owned a guinea pig in a very long time and really needed some tips and tricks, and they helped me out so so so much and I couldn't be more appreciative.

The thing that really impressed me, was before shipping me, my new cage, they emailed me, informing me that i had purchased the wrong kitchen for my little piggy. I know that most businesses would not even consider making sure that it was just an error. I can really tell that they care about their customers and making sure they are happy!

I cannot wait to get home and put my new little pigs home together! Thank you so much!!!

One of our pigs stopped chewing on the bars because he had a lot more space to exercise and prevent boredom. And, Very fast shipping as well! Took 3 Days from Connecticut to our home in Michigan.

This is not a cage for our piggies it is a home. We lost our first guinea pig after only 11 months and the kids as well as their parents were devastated. We had no idea how much we loved our peanut butter. I was determined to bring two new guinea pigs home for our family and started to research the best way to care for them. Learning that guinea pigs need room to run and popcorn I knew the store bought cage was too small. We all sat around one night and chose our colors and other accessories for the new home. When it came we were so excited. It took 10 minutes to assemble and fit perfectly in our front room. We laid uhaul pads and felt on the floor of their home and then began to look for new piggies. Oreo and Patches love the space, they love hiding in the forest and the kitchen was the best purchase we made. It is super easy to clean. The kids can do it on their own. Most of their litter is in the kitchen and the rest can be cleaned up easily. The cage doesn't smell, their is nothing on my carpet and the open design has allowed all of us to pet and play with them so much better. 5 stars is not enough. Any other cage is just not good enough. Thank you for having such a great product. We love it!!!!

I am so excited that I found this site. They have awesome cages for my piggies. I purchased a small one for 1 of my piggies with the cubby system and just love it. For Christmas this year we purchased each one of our piggies the Piggy Patio. What an awesome addition. I love watching my piggy run up and down the ramp and it is great exercise for them. I have highly recommended this site to friends who are also getting very excited about a future order. These are so much nicer and give so much space to your pampered pigs instead of being cooped up in some tiny shack. 100% satisfied customer.

I received my first cage today!!

1) I can't believe how EASY it was to set-up!!

2) The colours are great! :D

3) The hay rack is the best thing I've ever bought for my piggies (and myself! lol).

4) The height is really great for keeping mess in yet allowing me to look in still!

5) The instructions were especially easy to follow!

6) The care sheet was VERY comprehensive. Even though I already knew all of the info because I'm quite experienced, a lot of people sadly do not. :( So it's extra fantastic to see that people can learn all about the health, happiness, and safety of their piggies! ;)

7) My piggies are POPCORNING like CRAZY!! hehehehe!!!! They are soooo in love with their new home! (And this is just the first part! I will be putting three 2' x 5' cages together!)

Thank you SOOOO very much for making such amazing cages, offering such beautiful colours, and ensuring cavy caregivers know how to best keep their little ones! ;)

P.S. I was given a VERY excellent and major cost-saving tip from one of the store owners: When shipping to Canada, if your order is under $200 (cost of items), the broker fee is very, very minimal.

On an approximate $125 order (cost of items, not including shipping), I only had to pay about $25 for brokers fee, duties and taxes. I will add that I live in Manitoba and I do realize taxes vary province to province but not by too much! ;)

Still love the cage and an update on durability to my 2/22/2016 Review

Product:

Service:
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
Pros:
Cons:
I already reviewed the cage on 2/22/2016 and the one thing I was concerned with regarding the chloroplast was the durability of the cage over the long term. I am still very much impressed with the space the gps have in this versus a pet store cage and the girls love the ramp and wide loft and very much happy but... we bought white bars...do not do that with a chewer. She has chewed them to bare metal now and from an aesthetic standpoint is looks pretty mangled so buy black bars. We have lost several of the connectors for the grid meaning they come off pretty easily and seriously have no idea where they went. The kitchen area was fine when they were small but now that the gps are substantially bigger we are finding they no longer eat in the kitchen but instead sit outside the lip and eat from there meaning the mess the kitchen is intended to contain has now been transferred to outside of the kitchen. In addition with daily dumping of the kitchen "mess" the the plastic rivets holding the kitchen together have all come out. We tried duct tape but the chewer has chewed it all away. Ultimately we solved the kitchen problem by cutting away the lip, attaching a 5 inch piece of chloroplast to extend the area and using metal rivets in all areas to keep it together. It seems to be working and the chewer leaves the metal rivets alone. Sometimes it just comes down to finding ways to defeat gp habits. The main chloroplast body, wide loft and ramp are still in good shape and holding up well but the loft is sagging in the middle with the grid squares but does appear to be safe. We defeated the chewer by putting newspaper in front of the ramp on the loft so she would chew on this instead of the ramp edges. If you have a nervous, chewer gp, no matter the amount of chew items available, they love the chloroplast and bars and defeating this has been our biggest hurdle. We still consider a good buy but you do have to proactive.

I have two female guinea pigs(Chevy and Jr.) and they were in a very small cage before. I bought them an XL with wide loft, covered. I put it together and was just amazed at how big it was. I would also like to say how helpful the staff was. Every time I had a question, Sue answered it almost immediately. Thank you so much for the wonderful cage and being incredibly helpful.

Pros:
Cons:
I am a guinea pig owner of many years. I have owned this cage for 2 months and have 3.5 month old gps girls. After the loss of our very old males, I wanted a new setup to start fresh. C&C immediately came to forefront in many gp forums. I will reiterate what many others have said: the customer service is outstanding, the price is reasonable (especially after contemplating a $279 pet store cage which does not have 1/3 the room of a C&C one) and the many options available means there is one to meet a number of individual specifications, and finally my gps love the room!

To highlight a few of my individual insights I will just say I was blown away with the actual size after having endured a pet store one for so many years. I have the Large, Wide Loft and Kitchen. Many of our friends describe this as a palace for pigs. Assembly is pretty easy to understand if you read the directions but does take some time. Also remember to put together in an area where you carry it into the designated space. (Oops!)

I adore the open top. This makes everything from cleaning, petting, playing and feeding so much easier. Family members and visitors who wish to interact with them means the gps do not have to come out of the cage. In the past I endured many a grandparent, child or other who wanted to hold and pet them and my angst every time I had to take them out was whether they would drop the gps, hold them too tight, the gps would bite them etc., and nearly sent me over the edge on a number of occasions. Having said that one of my new girls is a jumper, climber, chewer and no fear gp (more like a ferret).

The kitchen area is absolute genius as both of my girls do 90% of their "business" here and thus has saved me countless time in not having to clean a regular cage 2 times a day (had males before and they are not tidy!) and only needing to do a complete kitchen clean once a day along with a small spot clean of the rest of the cage. I was advised when purchasing that the wide loft does create somewhat of an issue getting to the kitchen area for cleaning but I have mitigated this by building a stable wooden prop with holders to prop up the cage part at that end when I need to access.

Cons:

My “chewer” pig has made a disaster out of the white cage bars inside. She has chewed anything she can reach which is plenty because she stands on hind legs for long periods with no problem. I would have purchased black bars had I known.

The chloroplast is a problem in spots with both pigs. They have chewed the loft end leading to the ramp, the top of the chloroplast near the ramp, the edges of the ramp, the kitchen edge and the “chewer” has grazed the tops of the chloroplast at the front (thankfully I got the 12 inch back). I have also crimped the chloroplast trying to affix water bottles which they will not tear down. I have fixed most problems with decorative duct tape which they seem not to chew on. (Perhaps with the chewing problems you would think they have nothing to chew but we have bought them EVERYTHING to include getting them out of the cage for an hour a day)

The “chewer” gp has made a game out of the ramp leading to the loft by continuously yanking it down with her teeth. I tried to make do with the double-sided tape but eventually had to go to industrial Velcro which she has not yet taken down.

The “chewer” is also a jumper and climber which means I have had to take precautions when she decides she needs to be on the habitat or chewube that she doesn’t jump out of the cage. I do not place these near the front and I have added hardware cloth for the moment to make sure she doesn’t jump out as I do not want to put a top on and believe eventually she will outgrow this behavior.

I love the cage and my problems deal mainly with mitigating the circumstances of my extremely adventurous gp. Very happy with this purchase.

Hey There, I am nearly a life long pig owner...30 years worth of piggies. I could go on and on but would just like to say thanks. Last year, after a few years of piglessness, I convinced a pet store to give me an older adult mother/ daughter combo I had been visiting for a long time. They had lived their entire lives in the store..years..born there...and were living in a 1.5 ft by 1.5 ft plexiglass enclosure when I came upon them. The pet store employees loved the pigs and when they found out I was a vet, they handed them over.

This put me suddenly in the market for a new pig habitat and I knew the home-made spacious cage was the way to go...but I have limited time and energy to expend on tracking down parts!!! I came across your website and was ecstatic. I ordered the 5x2 with a 1x1 loft and the pigs were in heaven. My heart has room for 2 more so I needed the floor space for some additions....so I just ordered another 2x2 loft and added some additional room. If I am not mistaken, I placed the order one day and received it 24 hours later!!!! How is that even possible?? Ok, so now my pigs are living like queens and are utterly exhausted from tearing laps and galloping up and down the ramps just for fun!

In addition to your quick service...REALLY QUICK SERVICE...I want to thank you for keeping your costs to customers so low. While I know the CC cage materials themselves are very inexpensive, the labor and service required/ associated with putting those kits together is what I am more than willing to pay for. I guess what I am saying is that you could probably charge a lot more for your kits and "get away with it" because they make such amazing cages and the kits make it so easy to have a CC cage! I roamed the pet stores in search of quality, big, pig-friendly type cages before I ordered yours... The ones I came across that sort of fit my standards were all in the $130 to $150+ range and would have been miserable to clean AND would have needed modifications to make pig-appropriate. While I know I am personally willing to work an extra day a week or sell belongings on eBay to keep my pets in comfort, safety and good health!!!!!....I know not every pig owner is willing to shell out the cash for luxury accommodations for a $20 rodent. So, on behalf of pigs everywhere, I would like to thank you for keeping your great cages more than affordable for even your beginner, run of the mill, pig owner. I think it's great! And I know the pigs agree!

Cons:
I find most reviews are created shortly after purchasing a product, so I thought I would post a review after using our 2X5 C&C cage with loft for 9 months. Both of our piggies are very happy. We have two Boars and found the loft is perfect if one needs space to get away for a while. I found using the zip-ties at the joints of the grids helps the cage stay together snugly so I am not re-pressing the cage together all the time. The corrugate has held up great! The rivets work much better to hold the corners together than duct tape did. Cleaning the cage is simple. I use fleece in the loft, and one 25.7L bag of Carefresh Complete for the main portion. We can go about 7-10 days between cleanings. I use white vinegar for urine build-up and a general cage wipe-down once per month. I chose the Cubby system for a stand so the cage is up higher. This works great for storing all the food and cleaning supplies. It also made it much easier to handle the piggies and clean the cage since it is waist high. The cage is easy to pick up and move so we can clean up fallen litter and hay. I could not be happier with this arrangement and I think the piggies are much healthier than if we were to have purchased a store-bought cage.

I've used C&C cages for both guinea pigs and bunnies, and they are a wonderful cage for a really nice price. The cages at the pet store cost just as much, or more, but are much smaller!

I just re-ordered a new cage, as my old cage was old and I made the mistake of giving it to someone else, thinking I would no longer need it. Now I have two bunnies [only planned on one, but ah well, they're too cute] sharing a small cramped petstore cage, so I had to come back here and order again!

Cons:
Our one-year old triplet girls have been living in their large 2 x 4 new home for about a month now, and they love their bright and beautiful, roomy new home, which looks great in our living room. They are very active girls, running and chasing each other throughout the day, and then taking their 15-minute power naps to recharge. They are so much at ease in their new home that many times they do not sleep in any of their 3 hideaways, but rather, in their own separate cozy corner :) We had also purchased the cage stand, the cage cover, and 4 covered storage bins in cream and brown, which coordinate wonderfully with their cream colored Coroplast base. Although we have NO other pets in our home, the versatile cage cover gives the girls a sense of security, since they were accustomed to the screen cover that was used on their previous cage. We also applaud your wonderful customer service team. There was a missing item in our order, and Sue responded immediately to my email. She had the missing item shipped out the very next day after our correspondence!

Wonderful!
