2x3 was indeed too small for my very active piggy. I was short on space but he loves his narrow loft loop! Lots of space to run and he loves ramps! It also opened up a little space on the bottom because his cozy now goes in between the ramp openings on the top. Perfect for small spaces! Also when he used to run around in circles he used to trash kitchen. Now it's under a ramp and out of his running Loop.
I had concerns about whether my guinea pigs would actually go up the ramps, whether it would take up too much space in the cage (2 by 4) and whether it would make cleaning much more difficult. I shouldn’t have worried. My guinea pigs are pretty young and they ascended the ramps immediately. My bigger boy made the upper level his cozy space right away. This saved cage space and stopped the constant bickering. The ramps also are on the edges of the cage so still leave a nice open space in the center. My littlest piggie likes to go under the ramp and cuddle in. As for the cleaning, it is only slightly more difficult. My kids love watching the piggies “zoom” up the ramps. It was nice to provide some more space without going out further horizontally.
I decided to get this because my two pigs love to sit at the top of the ramp, and it always caused a traffic jam when one wanted to get down or up. Now, its perfect! They love to run laps in the cage, and with the fleece forest in the upper level between the ramps--its perfect! Thanks for such a creative product, they love it!
