I’ve been wanting to build my guinea pigs a loft for a while but could only find sets of 20+ grids on Amazon when I only needed 5. I didn’t want to spend a lot to just be left with a whole bunch of grids I’ll never use so I am so so thankful I found singular grids on this site for such a great price. I just finished building up my piggy cage and I couldn’t be happier. The customer service and communication on this site is also so wonderful. The owner has a great and loving attitude for buyers

Pros:
 • Good quality
 • Sturdy
 • Stopped bar chewing
 • Reasonably priced
 • Amazing
Cons:
My Winston was a prolific bar biter. He would do it all night. I've tried bitter spray, vinegar, etc and he continued to do so, which worried me because he was able to leave teeth marks. I then switched his grids from the old ones to the new powder coated grids. He tried several times to chew at night, however he could not make a mark on these grids! He tried more, but has since given up as he cannot chew down to the metal. Because of these new grids, Winston no longer bar bites. I can now sleep at night (he is in room).

Myself, Winston & his teeth thank you for these grids 😀

My piggy Grady gets excited all the time. However, he really gets excited when he hears the hay bag. He knows he is about to get fresh hay. Grady popcorns about 5 to 10 times. Grady is 3 years old so I am so proud he can still popcorn at his age. Anyway he popcorns then runs to the grids and chews on them. It is cute :) but the grids were starting to look horrible. I decided to replace all the grids. Grady lives in 2x4 candc. So I replaced 12 grids. So very happy I did. It's been 3 days and my furry baby has lost interest in chewing on the grids because the grids discourage chewing piggies. Great product!!!!

After our guinea pigs got accustomed to their new home, they started gnawing on the original grids. We tried feeding them more, feeding them different food and even playing with them more, but they continued to gnaw at and chew on the grids. This left the inside metal exposed and the white covering was falling off. A quick email to Guinea Pig Cages and Sue had our solution. The new and improved Power Coated Grids! We received 3 new grids almost overnight and they installed easily. In fact, the "fit" feels even more snug as the grids are a bit thicker. It's been quite a few months since we installed the new grids and there are no more bite marks. Thanks to Sue and Guinea Pig cages for continually updating their product, not only for convenience, but also for the safety of our pets!

These grids are VERY very sturdy. They hold themselves up nicely and look very professional. The white makes it look nice.

It would be nice if the coating was a bit thicker maybe or firmer... but that is a VERY minor comment... maybe that could be offered as a "luxury grid" option in the future (heh). That being said, my piggies don't chew at the bars too terribly much.

I LOVE the spacing!!!!! Sooooo many grids are WAY too small! :( These grids offer excellent amazing ventilation!! SO key in piggy health and happiness!!

Also, I had babies and yep, they can squeeze through. LOL But this is mentioned in the description which I think is fantastic of the store owners to have mentioned! And yep, just using some extra coroplast or doubling up grids til they grow worked great! ;) And yes... they do grow too fast so you won't need to baby proof for long. :( Ahh, at least piggies are cute even once grown up! ;)

I had bought my setup from here in 2013. Mooshy and now Bella Rose were/Are bar chewers. Bella is the worst. Paint easily came off and I sure wasn't at peace knowing they ate paint. Got these and replaced them. She's tried hard to get the paint off and no go! No little dents either! I noticed the bars on the new ones are a little thinner and the feel of the coating is different. So happy though Bella Rose isn't!

From Guinea Pig Cages Store: Thank you for your review! Just to clarify: You're correct, the new grids are powder coated vs. vinyl coated. They're stronger because there's more metal than coating to keep the grid/bar thickness the same. Vinyl coating requires several thick coats and can peel. Powder coating is applied electrostatically and heat cured. So we had the metal made thicker in order to keep the same gauge of the grid. Glad the new grids are working nicely, and I hope Bella found something more appetizing to chew! :)

My little ones love to chew their cage grids, no matter what I did they found a way to get to them. They chewed right through the plastic and down to the metal on several grids. Then I tried these powder coated grids and wow! Several months in and no amount of chewing has put so much as a dent in any of the grids! Nothing! And they're non toxic so I don't have to find creative ways to keep them from chewing! In fact, only two of them bother anymore since they don't get anywhere with it. I love these grids! Definitely a must for anyone with piggies who enjoy to chew on everything they can get their little teeth on!
