<p>Love the chloroplast base for my hedgie's midwest cage. She is 8 month old escape artist :) My only complaint is that the rivets don't stay in. I don't think this will make the base and walls any effective, but it would've been nice to have the extra security of the rivets.</p><p><br></p><p>From GPCS: HI Sarah: Just be sure that the rivets are installed correctly - you will hear a "clicking" sound when they're properly connected. Make sure they're lined up in a plus sign (one rivet at the 12 and 6'oclock position and the other in the 3 and 9 o'clock position. It's super secure once they're in, even a bit of a struggle to get them out. :) Hope that helps!</p>
I found this to not only be a high quality and easy to assemble base but it is easier to clean and stabilized the whole cage. Definitely not a waste of money
I got this for the Midwest cage but of course, shortly after, I got my piggy a cage mate and had to get something bigger. On the plus side, I now know what to expect as far as quality (which is amazing!) and will definitely come to this site for any enhancements that I need. That being said, I have a cage on the way! I can trust that it will be made with a lot of love, by people that understand what piggies need!
The coroplast bottom is AMAZING! It fits the Midwest Cage perfectly, is well-constructed, & looks SO GOOD! I feel that it is going to make cleaning easier as well. I ordered the black coroplast & LOVE it!!! If you are thinking about purchasing this, do it! It is 100% worth the money! I also wanted to mention that the customer service was top notch! I sent an email & got a quick response. They were extremely helpful & kind! 5 Stars all around!!!
It's slightly too long to fit inside the cage without quite a bit of struggle to close it, and too short in the width to fit the divider that comes with the Midwest Cage. I'm not entirely sure how the measurements for this base were decided (I measured, it did come in the measurements stated on this page), but it seems it would have made more sense to make the base 46"Lx23"W as opposed to 46.25"Lx22.5"W. I've emailed support about this (only about 20 mins ago and it is currently 9:30pm CST so I'm not expecting a response immediately of course), but I thought that it should be known that this base does not fit perfectly in this cage and you will not be able to use the divider properly if you use this base. Currently my divider is placed at an angle... I will say however, the base came in perfect condition (I only deducted 1 star for it not fitting very well and not being able to use the divider) and service is currently at 5 stars because my base shipped the day after I ordered it and arrived exactly when I was told it would. I also really enjoyed the little "How to Care for Your Guinea Pig" sheet I got with the base. I don't have a guinea pig (mine is for my hedgehog), but it was very informative and I think it's great for a company to send something to help potential owners take good care of their small pets. I'm saving it for if I ever do get a guinea pig.
I recommend this base for sure. We've had ours for almost a year now and it is such an improvement over the base the Midwest cage comes with. It is much easier to clean, and actually sturdier than I expected it would be. About the only issue I have is sometimes it's a bit tricky for me to get the cage off and on by myself, but that's just due to the size of the cage, not any fault of the base. Thank you!
I have purchased several items from GPC recently, including a jumbo C&C cage. I ordered this to go in my Midwest cage because my boys chewed and mutilated the canvas bottom that came with it. It fits great and I love the color (light blue). I have only had it in the cage for a few hours so I don't know how well it will stand towards their little teeth yet. The only problem I had with it was that the coroplast was not scored all the way down the length of the piece which was frustrating. The service was quick; it came in 3 days.

This base is PERFECT!! This fits wonderfully in my Midwest Cage and will be wonderful for my Piggies in the long run. I am absolutely pleased with my purchase and I just ordered a second one for my other Midwest Cage that I have attached. I wish I had ordered two the first time so I could’ve saved on shipping! If you have two Midwest Cages or more that’s connected than I advise you to buy however many bases you’ll need!!! You will NOT be disappointed!! A++ *****5 Stars!! (o:

Terrific liner. The quality that we all know and love from guinea pig cage store! Nice color (denim blue). Super easy to set up. And what a great price, too!
My cage is 2x4 but uses 12" grids. This fits perfectly inside the connectors and is much nicer than the base I cut myself. Definitely worth the money!
