My piggies definitely aren't potty trained and don't ONLY do their business in this area, but we both like having the separated "mess area" as they do make their biggest messes in here and I love being able to pull it out and clean it relatively easily. It's a little difficult to get out with an offset loft, but I'm not rating it down for that, since it was my decision to offset the loft. Just keep it in mind that if you chose to put it under an offset loft it is not quite as easy to get out. If you are not offsetting the loft, definitely get the doors.
Our first cavy bistro lasted for a few years before our piggies chewed the sides down. Very well constructed, easy to set up and VERY DURABLE. We have 4 sows and this lasted almost 4 years!
I purchased this for my two babies for the 2x4 cage. I love how big this item is and look forward to easier habitat cleaning.
I got the Bistro for my 2 x 4 cage and love it. I like that it is big enough that the hay is contained in this area. My GP is now mostly potty trained and goes in his Bistro. I originally was going to get the size below this one, but glad that I got the bigger one.
I have gone through multiple litter to fleece ratios and this is perfect for my 2x5 for my 3 pigs. I have found it useful to take the entire litter area out and just dump all of it into a contractor bag, it fits right in. This is such a huge time saver for me, a full cage clean only takes me 15 minutes now. However, I wouldn’t suggest the translucent one, I would go with a darker color.
It is perfect and incredibly well-made. I highly recommend it to anyone.
If you're here looking at this product then you need to buy it. I was feeling a bit goofy getting them because I felt like it might be a waste of money but I'm so wrong. I have fleece bedding and after getting this kitchen for all their hay I haven't had to find hay in my washer anymore. I fill this baby up and my pigs lose their little piggy minds. I'm happy and so are they. My one mistake was that my trash can isn't big enough to dump the tray into it without spilling half on the floor so I take it outside to dump in the yard instead. Taking it out of the cage requires a little precision because it does tend to get hooked on the connectors but it's worth it.
<p>This fits perfectly in the large cage. I'm glad I ordered this because I have fleece flippers coming for my cage and I will be able to keep this area with the disposable bedding and keep their food/hay in this area. All 3 of my piggies know where their kitchen is lol :)</p>
I ordered a few things Sunday morning and they arrived around Wednesday afternoon. I was so surprised! Great quality and easy to pop together. 10/10 recommend.
So I ended up getting this cause so many great reviews. It doesnt take up two of the squares going forward. Witch I was fine with. Cause I had an extra narrow flipper by accident. But it worked out great. Now I can law down bedding for the guineas so there not pooing all over the fleece. I love it! and totally recommend this! I'm happy with my purchas and so are my guineas. :D
We purchased this for our two pigs who are in a 2x6 C&C. They are great piggies, but not even remotely tidy. We hesitated at first because they both have vision issues (one missing an eye, the other nearly blind) and we were not sure how they would negotiate the entrance or adjust to the change. We shouldn't have worried! We introduced the pigs to it carefully and placed them throughout the Bistro, from the entrance to the new hay area (water bottles are in the same place they had been). Our one-eyed pig immediately adjusted, and after careful monitoring, even our nearly-blind pig manuevered through and around it within hours. There is plenty of room for hay, pellet bowls, and 2 water bottle access points, plus 2 large pigs. Their cage is now so orderly! The hay and poos are not strewn everywhere. The poos are confined to the kitchen and to a favorite corner, making spot cleaning a quick two-minute job instead of a 10-minute poo-berry picking adventure. No more stinky wet hay all over. We put CareFresh in the kitchen (otherwise we use fleece) and can toss it out as needed.
I had a cat's litter box as my original kitchen but then got this, so much better!! It is much better and fits side to side so no gaps where my piggie can make a mess. She has a tendency to poop and pee in her house so I also put that in! :) As always, Customer Service and shipping were great and speedy!!
I use my hay rack for going above this bistro. Since piggies seem to make their hay area also their washroom area (ack, they just do this...), it keeps the hay and washroom contained. (They pee/poop in the corner and eat out of the rack, lol) When cleaning the cage, most of the mess is already contained!! :D Mega-plus! The only thing I'd suggest is a bit stronger tape as I reinforced one of the sides. But I also have 6 piggies sharing! So I'm sure they got a bit more rambunctious than if I had 2-3 pigs. ;)
The cavy bistro fits perfectly into the base coroplast. :) I've put carefesh into the bistro. I feed my pigges their hay, veggies, and pellets here along with two of their water bottles. Keeps all the mess contained and they are starting to pick up that this is a better place to go potty then in the very back corner of their cage under the loft. Cavy bristro is pre-taped, all you have to do is peel the tape protecting off and fold the sides together and it sticks really well!
I bought this after reading what would be the easiest to clean and decided to go half with bedding half with fleece. I got the bigger one since I have two pigs and might get more in the long run. This works wonders and they seem to do most their business inside of the cafe! It makes cleaning easier so that the whole cage isn't left a mess, and the pigs seem to really enjoy it.
Just got this today (along with a few other items from this site). Its perfect for my hay rack, water bottle, water bowl, food bowl and I love that it holds my carefresh so I no longer have to sweep tons of hay off my fleece! My pigs had an early easy Christmas. I love that it was so easy to put together as well and theres so much room my pigs can both be in there with tons of room to spare.
Coro isn't easy to work with at all, which made this kitchen even more impressive to me. I was floored by the attention to detail in the design, everything from the reinforced front edge (smart! and more comfy on little GP bellies too), to the pre-placed, two-sided tape. Quite able in size, I may consider going with the narrower version if I decide to change up the cage, as the ramp ends in the kitchen of my modified c & c cage - not a bad thing per se but to keep things cleaner, it might be something to consider. And, it comes in a colour that makes me happy! Incredibly quick and helpful advice from one of the team members - thank you so much!
This is super easy to assemble. The rivets make it such a fast process and there is a piece that goes on the part they have to walk over that keeps them from scratching their bellies. I also like this kitchen because I can have fleece and bedding at the same time without the wood shavings getting stuck and making a mess. I got the deluxe large 2 by 4 cage for my 3 sows and I had to put the kitchen up in the loft because it was much bigger than I had expected and if I put it on the main floor my girls wouldn't have any room for zoomies. Overall though, great kitchen and super useful.
Overall it is well made and easy to assemble. I got it to use as a kitchen because my lady herd always goes in their hay which made that part of the cage in particular gross so with this kitchen piece, i can fill with bedding and dump when covered in hay. However i wish i would have been told the area between the kitchen bottom and the coroplast collects condensation as it would have affected how much fleece i needed.
