The description stated this cage for 1-2 guinea pigs, and not enough room for 3. This is a large cage. I only have 2 piggies and there is way more than enough room. I should have opted for the small.
This cage is a huge success. I upgraded from a smaller cage for my two guinea pigs, and they love their new, larger home. The ramp works out perfectly and they love running up and down it even though they are going on five years. Just remember, the bars and the coroplast base is not connected, so you must have a space large enough for the bars to rest on as well.
My two piggies LOVE this cage so far (they've been in it for almost 3 days now) They'll run all around it pop-corning. This cage is VERY BIG, the piggies love the space. They love going up and down the ramp, one of my piggies sometimes naps up there. I use the loft as a kitchen, I bought the small hay rack from this website and put it along the side, my piggies like to crawl underneath it sometimes too. The cover would have been great if I would've gotten all the grids, I only got 7 instead of 11 (I think that is the correct amount as shown on the directions) so I gave the product a 4 star instead of 5. Great cage though!
I purchased this cage for my two guinea pigs. I placed the order on a Friday and received the cage by Monday - very impressive. The assembly is time consuming, but as long as you read through all of the directions before beginning (which the directions instruct you to do) it is not difficult, just tedious. The cage is very large and they both love the room. I have three cats and two very nosy dogs and therefore had to get the covered cage. I was very disappointed with the construction of the cover; I thought it would actually be a secure closure, but it is just overlapping grids that simply lay over the top. They are zip-tied and secured on one side only to allow them to "flip". They do not lock, they do not click into place, nothing. They just lay there. I have to use binder clips to hold it down so my cats cannot open the lid - and they are definitely more than capable of it. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchased, just a bit shocked over the quality of the "animal proof" cover.
This cage is awesome! Tons of room for the piggies! You could probably put 3 pigs in this with plenty of room. Easy to put together!
The cage itself was excellent, but the cover was very difficult. The loft cover was perfect it worked fabulously but the downstairs cover was a hazard to my piggies. It did not come with the support bar shown and the cover was collapsing on my boys. I was about to order a support bar but luckily my parents had just ordered a new towel rack so I took the old bar and DIYed it.Thor LOVES to sleep in his cozy sack upstairs, while Pablo sleeps in the sun in his cavy kitchen.
